Here is 4/5 of Stop Motion Orchestra rehearsing one of our new tunes: Stop Motion Orchestra rehearsal vid June 1, 2015 It was a lot of fun! Thanks Henna for the invitation: I set up my guitar so the cats could play it too. I recently got the opportunity to improvise at Austin Animal Center with Henna Chou and Sarah Ann. Thinking Plague will be playing their first Austin show at Salvage Vanguard Theater January 9th, sponsored by Church of the Friendly Ghost, with Stop Motion Orchestra! I’m very excited to have played a part in bringing one of my favorite bands to Austin. Thinking Plague in Austin 2016 Aug 12, 2015 San Antonio Jan 8 (with Stop Motion Orchestra)Īustin Jan 9 (with Stop Motion Orchestra) More Thinking Plague dates have been confirmed: 91.7 FM in Austin, or streaming on More Thinking Plague Tx dates Jan 2016 Nov 25, 2015 We’ll discuss our upcoming TX shows and more. Members of Stop Motion Orchestra (including myself) will join members of Thinking Plague on Austin’s progressive rock radio show, Virtual Noise, Jan 3rd from 5:30 - 7:00. Our first show will be at Grizzly Hall July 1st (the weekend of Tim Smith’s birthday). I’m thrilled to announce the debut of my new project: a tribute to my favorite band, Cardiacs! Jibber & Twitch is myself and Charlie (Stop Motion Orchestra, Obnosticon) on guitar and drums, TJ (Foot Patrol) on keys, Pat (Pataphysics, Zoms Zoms) on vocals, and Julien (Brown Whornet, Churchwood) on bass. We are proud of this track, the album and remix compilation are great, and I can’t imagine a better cause: Its a cover of a 7shades tune, and is part of a compilation, the sales of which go to raise money to help cover medical expenses for Tim Smith (Cardiacs). Terraformation (Mohadev & Ben DeGain) have a new album in the works, and we took a break to record this track. You can check it out here: New Terraformation track I am on the latest episode of Austin music podcast Chasing Sound! I did a long interview sandwiched between some spacey improvisations with hosts Andrew Noble and Kirk Duval. Loon Attic by Nick Prol & the Proletarians Chasing Sound I just contributed a few guitar solos, but the whole thing is definitely worth checking out

Definitely worth a listen.News Archive Jibber & Twitch final show / Charlie Duncan farewell Jul 20, 2019 Meanwhile, Tim's guitarist Kavus Torabi has been absolutely tearing it up with his psychedelic outfit, Knifeworld. Mike Vennart from Oceansize is a huge devotee (he helped organize the benefit album), and funny enough, this week he managed to publish an article about his ten favorite Cardiacs tunes, and why he loves 'em so much. They're still getting the online shop back together, and only recently have they started doing re-releases of Cardiacs on vinyl.īut, I mean, of all the ways it could have happened, the founder of Cardiacs having a heart attack after a My Bloody Valentine show smacks of enough irony that I bet he even giggled about it.

In his words, though, his "hands are cunts" at the moment.Īs far as that video series goes, they keep saying they'll release the rest of the sessions, but there's no timetable for it that I've seen. He's in a physical rehab program specifically for musicians, so that's cool, and people close to him have assured fans that his mind is still 100% intact. I try to keep posted on Tim's recovery, and it looks fairly certain that he'll never play another gig. There's just nothing in the world quite like them. They've been so hugely influential on so many wonderful musicians - looking at their list of famous fans is like a who's who of my favorite music. Cardiacs might just be the greatest band of all time.
